Job Announcement: Outreach Coordinator

Position Summary:

The Outreach Coordinator will coordinate community education and awareness initiatives as well as oversee our volunteer program. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Public Health Education Committee and Communications Committee. 

Our ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal, written and public speaking skills; sound leadership ability; and strong strategic planning, organizational and program management skills. The candidate must be results oriented, demonstrate flexibility, and have the ability to handle multiple projects. Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office products, online social media (Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter) and website maintenance is desired. Bachelor’s degree in communications, education, healthcare or other related field and/or equivalent work experience (3-5 years).

Primary Responsibilities:

Community Education & Awareness
  1. Work with the Executive Director and Committees to develop and implement education and awareness outreach strategy
  2. Identify/coordinate/schedule community outreach activities
  3. Ensure quality improvement of programs by overseeing program evaluation and reporting
  4. Identify partnership opportunities for purpose of disseminating messages about kidney disease
  5. Lead communications (print and media) and awareness initiatives
  6. Assist with the design and content of promotional collateral (brochures, etc.)
  7. Manage online social media and foundation website content
  8. Liaison with the communications and education committees for all related activities
Volunteer Program
  1. Manage the organization’s overall volunteer program
  2. Direct recruitment, training, retention and recognition program for volunteers
  3. Match volunteers to support our various programs and organization needs
Other responsibilities
  1. Attend monthly board meetings and committee meetings as needed
  2. Required weekend and evening hours as necessary

 

Compensation:

The position is full-time with comprehensive medical/dental/vision benefits, vacation and holiday package, 401K retirement plan and flexible work schedule and environment.
