Financial Support of the Foundation
The Kidney Foundation of Greater Cincinnati relies on funding to continue offering patient services, free public health education programs and medical research grants. You can make a difference in your community, with a monetary gift or gift of your time. Remember, 100% of your donation remains in the Greater Cincinnati community helping your neighbors, your family and your friends by providing funding for the following programs.
Patient Services
Medication Aid - helps patients who qualify, afford much needed medication.
Emergency Grants - are one-time gifts designed to help patients pay for rent, utilities, transportation to dyalysis, or food.
Nutritional Supplements - provide kidney patients with the additional supplements they need while undergoing dialysis.

Public Health Education Programs
Captain Kidney Youth Health Education Program - An interactive program designed for elementary students (grades 1-6), which includes information about kidney function, signs and symptoms of kidney disease, preventative measures and tips for a healthy lifestyle.
Jr. High & Sr. High School Education Program - Covers kidney health, A-Z, for students grades 7-12, complete with tips on healthy lifestyle practices. This program covers the warning signs of kidney disease, tools to prevent or delay the onset of kidney disease and information about other diseases linked to poor kidney health.
Corporate Presentations - Designed as Lunch & Learn or Brown Bag Sessions, this program is intended to present a wide range of kidney health information in a shorter period of time.
Spirit of Health - Presented in neighborhood churches, the program focuses on the importance of good kidney health abd the relationship the kidneys have with the total health of an individual. The church has long been a cornerstone providing a window to the soul of the community. By educating the congregation, we hope to educate the surrounding neighborhood.
KATCH (kidney Assessment Through Comprehensive Health) Screening - The goal of this program is to identify individuals at risk for developing kidney disease. "KATCH" the disease in its early stages by offering "at-risk" individuals free follow-up testing. Direct those individuals to appropriate medical attention before the disease spirals out of control.

Medical Research Grants
Each year the Foundation provides money for research in the renal field. Our Medical Advisory Board screens Research Grant Applicantions and awards money to a local researcher who is doing vital work in accordance with the mission and vision of the Foundation. through seed-money grants, the Foundation supports the search for continued advances in the cause, treatment, cure and prevention of kidney disease.
